I wanted to ask, for a home user with many devices. What is the routing speed of this thing with your average firewall on, no qos (aka home use)?

I think it works well as a home router like the ER-X and it also has wifi built-in. EdgeOS is the default firmware for EdgeRouter X, which we briefly covered in the EdgeRouter X piece. The interface and layout are the same, but it is important to mention that the Cavium/Marvell-based platform provides access to additional statistics and configuration parameters that EdgeOS makes available to end-user. Another option for EdgeOS configuration and management is CLI. The structure and hierarchy of configuration nodes may look familiar to many Cisco and Juniper users.
