All issues aside, I couldn't connect with the characters, and I didn't feel the connection with Cassie and Erin, either.

Again, not counting this against the book because obviously thats gonna be A Thing That Happens in taboo romance, but lol I wasn't always a fan.Age-gap done right - Too many age-gap romances miss that perfect balance of "age doesn't really matter" and "there are social ramifications for f*cking someone half your age"; often times, the age-gap is either ignored or made into this overblown moral hurdle with little else for substance. And despite Erin’s better judgement—how could sleeping with your daughter’s friend be anything but bad? Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. Erin is even more self-contained than Cassie when it comes to her non-relationship relationship and, as she’s more self-aware, there’s less a need for her friend to point out the obvious to her.

Although I feel mischievously generous in giving this book a full four stars, my general enjoyment is helping me justify it. The new book, “Mistakes Were Made” utilizes the “one night stand who you meet the next day in a new setting” trope while avoiding any version of the “bury your gays” trope.

The characters were still fantastic, there were some serious issues being explored, but the forbidden romance trope brought the fun. But let's just say their body and hearts caught on faster than their brains did about what was happening between them.

But then the next morning rolls around and her friend drags her along to meet her mom—the hot, older woman Cassie slept with.
